Instructions
Creating Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta is simple when you follow these steps:
1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
2. Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. Garlic & Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
4. Combine with Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens slightly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
5. Combine Shrimp and Pasta: Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss everything together until well coated with the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
